Baer employees raise money to help Gulf coast hurricane victims

The devastating scenes of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita remind us all of how crucial public support is to storm-related tragedies. A storm sees no faces, and leaves lives that must be rebuilt, step by step.

Baer Engineering and Environmental Consulting, Inc. is humbled and thankful for the generosity of our employees. Donations totaling $1400 were sent to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Capital Area Food Bank, Catholic Relief Services and the Round Rock Area Servicing Center. Baer Engineering's student interns raised over $200 by donating their Labor Day weekend recreation funds!

The donations received from Baer employees as well as their friends and family members were matched by Baer Engineering. Matching funds totaling $1400 were presented to Mayor Will Winn of the City of Austin to help in their hurricane relief efforts.

Remember that the work has barely begun. Donations of your time and money will continue to serve those in need.

Jerry has been a cheerful, dedicated volunteer on Austin Habitat construction sites and behind the scenes helping to raise fund for the past five years. His involvement with Habitat goes back even further, to when he was a volunteer at Oklahoma City HFH in the 1990's. He has been coordinator for the Oak Hill United Methodist Church volunteers. Jerry considers his work at Habitat to be his personal ministry, reflecting the motto that "everyone in the church is a minister." He says he loves the "genuine feeling of accomplishing something with an outstanding team." We've enjoyed having Jerry on our team and look forward to many more fun Saturdays working with him.
